• Mary Calandra, RN, and Joseph Calandra, MD, FACR, will receive the 2014 Keystone Founders Award in recognition of their dedication to the patients at Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston. Mrs. Calandra has served as program coordinator of the Breast Center at Presence Saint Francis since 2008. A registered nurse for 22 years, she is passionate about the thousands of low-income patients she has educated about breast health and navigated through the hospital’s free screening mammogram program. Her tireless work has been the key to the hospital’s success in receiving more than $500,000 in grants to fund this life-saving program. Dr. Calandra began his career at Presence Saint Francis as a radiology resident and is now Chair of the Radiology Department. In 2000, he was named Diagnostic Radiology Program Director, and he has trained more than 30 residents who went on to become attending radiologists.

•  Trexin Consulting, a management and technology consulting firm, announced that Skokie resident Glenn Kapetansky has been named chief security officer for the firm and its clients. Trexin specializes in the application of advanced technologies that drive business value. Kapetansky, who previously held director positions at Wellpoint, and US Bank, as well as a number of technology companies including Bell Labs, is a repeat recipient of Bell Labs’ Arno Penzias Award for Innovation in the Marketplace.

• Northbrook ophthalmologist and Wilmette resident Dr. Tamara Wyse, is bringing laser cataract surgery to the North Shore. The first laser for cataract surgery in the Chicagoland north suburbs is now at North Shore Surgical Center in Lincolnwood.
